Kirkin of the Tartan

The Modesto St. Andrews Society
will honor traditions of the past with its
annual "Kirkin' of the Tartan".

There will be a calling of the clans and all Scots are welcome to attend. A piper will play bagpipes. Scots wearing tartans will process in at the beginning of the service. Society members are asked to bring shortbread or other cookies to share.

All members of the society are urged to attend, with their friends and relatives, to enjoy and participate in this time-honored ceremony. Wear Scottish garb, or bring a bit of your clan tartan to be blessed. There will be an opportunity to visit with the church members following the service. All are welcome, and St. Andrews wil provide cookies for the coffee hour to follow the service.
